The Repor
MADISON, Ms--The Catfish Report is happy to return to regular publishing.
The first update is the release of Greg Davis' concession like fund raising report. Childers is also getting hit really hard on Supertalk. Expect different? Anyone with half a brain knows that Childers will win this election. The Catfish Report Political Director, Aaron Wells belies Childers will win by near landslide-like (58) proportions.
The prediction markets still remain virtually stagnant as the picking of party veeps has still yet to occur. Obama's chances climbed to nearly 70 percent, but have gone back to 65.
There is certainly a lot going on in the Musgrove vs. Wicker election. Neshoba will a huge event for these candidates. Its definately the most important Neshoba of either of the two's entire political career. The Catfish Report's editor Hardy Case will be at the speeches.
There is much to report on concerning the Catfish Report's acquisition of the Big Green Egg. Brisket, ribs, and Boston butts have all been smoked on the Egg. The product is always beautiful and juicy. A loyal reader inquired about pictures of the Egg and what goes in it. This will happen real soon. TCR can not express to you the effectiveness and efficiency enough. TCR has cooked several dished on the Egg and its total cook time is about two and a half days. Remarkably, the Egg hasn't even used half a 20lb bag of charcoal.

BBQ tip you won't learn in culinary school
MADISON, Ms-- Never ever cook a pork shoulder, brisket, or other smoking meat without using some sort of drip pan. I had to learn this back years ago cooking in Canton, Mississippi. The grease will smolder your fire and you'll be adding, rearranging, or restarting you coals.
If you don't have a drip pan, double layer some aluminum foil and make a plate that your meat can sit in without the juices spilling over.

Childers will win re-election with greater margin
MADISON, Ms -- Cory Adair, msgop worker, stated that Childers "hijacked" the gop platform. That statement was wasted air.
Yes, Childers will win re-election by wider margins and it is partly because the inexperience of many of the ground staff working for the msgop. Childers certainly won on his own merit, but the failed efforts and the numb touch on the issues of the msgop doesn't appear to be a trend that will cease in the near future.
The "hijacked" statement is ridiculous. Childers made his own platform, and it is conservative. Yes he is a democrat and yes- he can adopt any plan he wants to. Remember Adair - this is Mississippi, and most dem males from North Mississippi are probably more conservative than you are. Honestly, and with all due respect to Childers, he is a good ole country boy just like most other Mississippi males. This is a two party system for a reason, so save your time and chalk this one up for the dems this go around. If I were you, I would focus on another race.

MADISON, Ms-- Reports are in that a better way of cooking tenders is becoming popular. Experts say that if done correctly, produces the crunchiest and juicy tenders ever to be placed inside the mouth of a mammal.
Chuck Poindexter, new executive chef of the Catfish Report issued the following directions on this method:
"The first thing to always make sure of is that your batter is heavily coating the tenders. Weak batter- weak chef ! Next you need to lightly fry both sides of the tenders then quickly place on baking sheet and into oven at 350. Cook for 8-10 minutes, and you're golden--literally. "
While this is certainly not a new way of cooking, it is noted as especially good for the chicken tender since most are either fried or cooked over heat.

MADISON, Ms-- There have been no serious changes to the markets as of this morning. Expect McCain to rise from thirty percent. This is a very low number, and the first debate hasn't even occurred.

Editorial - Gas Prices
MADISON, Ms-- New leadership, whether it be Republicans or Democrats, is needed in Washington to change our energy policies. A single act of Congress will not amount to a hill of beans in terms of what we are paying at the pump. My advice- get some new blood in Congress and obviously- the White House.
What can you do to save money now? One of the first things you can do is to pick one day out of the week and simply NOT drive your vehicle. Pick Saturday or Sunday and just don't drive. How's that for a plan?

Flat iron steak
KROGER, U.S.A-- The Kroger grocery store chain is marketing a cut of meat called the "flat iron steak".
"This is the hottest selling steak in all of the Kroger meat departments. You can get a 1 pound steak for five dollars. Many restaurants are selling this exact same cut for eighteen to twenty dollars, " said the head butcher of Kroger in Madison, Ms.

JACKSON, Ms-- Mississippi House Bill 728 which requires Mississippi restaurants to disclose the country of origin on the label of the Catfish sold in Mississippi resturaunts, passed and is now state law. The country of origin or C.O.O.L. legislation is said by Roger Barlow, president of the Catfish Institute, to be a huge victory for all Mississippians.

"Catfish is about as 'Mississippi' as it gets, so I want my family eating Mississippi farm raised Catfish. Everything we do that benefits the health of our state is something worth striving for.
