MADISON, Ms-- New leadership, whether it be Republicans or Democrats, is needed in Washington to change our energy policies. A single act of Congress will not amount to a hill of beans in terms of what we are paying at the pump. My advice- get some new blood in Congress and obviously- the White House.
What can you do to save money now? One of the first things you can do is to pick one day out of the week and simply NOT drive your vehicle. Pick Saturday or Sunday and just don't drive. How's that for a plan?
The next thing you can do is to to never, EVER drive abouve the speed limit. Wake up earlier-drive slower-live longer-pay less.

Great points. Also, acceleration is a major drain on fuel. Slowing take-offs can considerably increase one's fuel mileage.
Yes. These are all techniques we can use to immediately save money on gas. Also one can study the roads and determine the best time to accelerate or coast depending on the slope of the road.
Also, it is interesting to note that taking your right shoe off while driving will give you greater control through increased sensitivity of the accelerator.
